Overview
We are seeking a motivated, innovative, and highly professional Financial Planner to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience within an Financial Planning firm, hold a Level 4 qualification in Financial Planning (or equivalent), and ideally be working towards Chartered status.
This role requires a well-rounded professional who is prepared to assist in all aspects of the business, including paraplanning, administration, and client relationship management, with opportunities to develop further within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Client Relationship Management: Manage and develop an existing client portfolio while generating new business opportunities through referrals and networking.
• Financial Planning Advice: Provide holistic, independent financial planning advice across pensions, investments, tax planning, and protection products, ensuring solutions are tailored to individual client needs.
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all activities meet the highest compliance standards and that financial advice is delivered in line with FCA regulations and company policy.
• Paraplanning and Administration Support: Assist with all aspects of paraplanning and administration, from report writing to client onboarding, as needed.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other IFAs, paraplanners, and administrators to ensure client needs are met efficiently and effectively.
• Study for Chartered Status: (If applicable) Commitment to continuing professional development by studying towards achieving Chartered Financial Planner status.
• Innovation and Initiative: Proactively contribute to the firm’s growth by identifying new business opportunities and improving internal processes.
Requirements
• Qualifications:
o Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (CII or equivalent) is essential.
o Currently studying for, or committed to studying for, Chartered Financial Planner status is highly desirable.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of experience within an IFA firm.
• Skills and Competencies:
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships.
o Excellent organisational and time management skills.
o Proficiency in using financial planning software and tools.
o Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
o Motivated, innovative, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Desirable Attributes
• University degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Business).
• Demonstrable progress towards Chartered status or desire to achieve it.
• Experience in providing advice across a broad range of financial products.
• Knowledge of current financial markets and industry regulations.
