Cloud Engineer – Contract
£400 per day (Inside IR35) | Remote (UK-based candidates only)

Our client is one of the UK's largest multi-brand automotive services groups, with operations spanning several European markets. As the business continues to consolidate and modernise its technology estate, they're looking for a Cloud Engineer to join on a contract basis, working primarily across Azure and Microsoft 365, with some exposure to Google Cloud Platform and Salesforce.

As the business continues to consolidate and modernise its technology estate, they're looking for a Cloud Engineer to join on a contract basis, working primarily across Azure and Microsoft 365, with some exposure to Google Cloud Platform and Salesforce.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting, maintaining and improving the organisation's Azure environment, including compute, storage, networking and identity (Azure AD/Entra ID)
- Administering and optimising the Microsoft 365 estate — Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune and security & compliance
- Building and maintaining automation and infrastructure-as-code to keep deployments consistent and repeatable
- Provisioning and configuring Azure resources including Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking and Entra ID, supporting migration activity, troubleshooting deployments and handling patching and maintenance
- Writing and maintaining PowerShell, Azure CLI or Python scripts, and contributing to Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM templates or Terraform
- Helping implement access controls and encryption via Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Azure Policy, maintaining logs, supporting audits and flagging risks Feeding into the roadmap for cloud and M365 tooling, and helping the wider IT function move toward best practice
- Working with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to deliver changes safely and with minimal disruption
Essential:
- Strong, hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS, networking, identity, monitoring)
- Solid experience managing a Microsoft 365 tenant (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, security & compliance)
- Comfortable scripting and automating routine tasks (PowerShell, Python or similar)
- Able to work independently in a fully remote role, with clear communication back to non-technical stakeholders
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Familiarity with Salesforce administration or supporting Salesforce integrations
