Do you want to own the cloud platforms that take AI into production, rather than just keep them ticking over?
This Senior DevOps Engineer role is with a fast-growing UK AI and robotics company, building systems that people rely on when decisions carry real weight. You'll own AWS and Kubernetes environments end to end, in a small team where every engineer has a visible impact.
You'll join a team of 3 within an 18-person engineering team, reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely with the CTO. With no team lead above you for the next 24 months, you'll have real autonomy. It's a permanent role in Oxfordshire, hybrid with 2 days a week in the office.
What You'll Be Doing
- Architecting and maintaining multi-account, multi-region AWS environments using Terraform and Helm
- Running Kubernetes clusters (EKS and OpenShift), registries and service meshes, with zero-touch deployments through GitHub Actions and Argo CD
- Leading security posture reviews and hardening with GuardDuty, CloudWatch and IAM
- Owning observability, alerting, backup and disaster recovery, including annual restore drills
- Driving cost and capacity optimisation, and owning the audits that keep the company aligned with its certifications
- Coordinating incident response and mentoring developers in DevSecOps practice
What You'll Bring
- Proven DevOps or SRE experience with a recent focus on AWS cloud engineering
- Strong Kubernetes administration (EKS and OpenShift), including on-premises setup, plus Helm
- Strong Terraform, GitHub Actions and Argo CD, with Docker and Linux
- Solid Nexus experience and SSO implementation across industry-standard software
- Scripting in Bash and Python or Go, and experience integrating SAST and DAST
Desirable: MLOps or LLMOps (SageMaker, Kubeflow, ZenML), Prometheus observability, AWS Karpenter, ISO 27001, NIST SSDF, OWASP SAMM, active SC or DV clearance
