IT Infrastructure Project Manager
International Banking Group - BAU Change
Central London - Hybrid Working (3 Days Onsite Per Week)
£75,000 – £80,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits
Are you an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager who enjoys delivering smaller, business‑critical projects that keep core services stable, secure and optimised?
This is an opportunity to join a highly respected international banking group at AVP level (with genuine potential to step into VP in time). You’ll sit in the Continuous Service Improvement function, delivering a rolling pipeline of infrastructure change - enhancing resilience, addressing risk, and improving service quality.
- Deliver a continuous pipeline of infrastructure projects (typically 2–3 at any time) across networks, data centre and wider core platforms.
- Own end‑to‑end delivery for BAU/“run the bank” change – upgrades, decommissions, migrations and other infra improvements, not large transformation programmes.
- Coordinate work between product owners, infrastructure/application teams, networks, data centre (e.g. Telehouse) and external vendors.
- Follow agreed governance and SDLC/PDLC processes, ensuring all changes are properly controlled, documented, and compliant.
- Drive planning, milestones, RAID and reporting, keeping stakeholders aligned on progress, risks and decisions.
- Ensure operational readiness and smooth implementation, including change submissions (ServiceNow / CAB) and clean handover back into BAU.
- Proven Infrastructure Project Manager background – comfortable delivering upgrades, decommissions, migrations and similar infra change.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure environments (networks, data centre, servers, platforms, etc.) – not hands‑on technical, but able to speak the language and challenge where needed.
- Solid experience working with ITSM and change processes (e.g. raising and managing changes in ServiceNow, CAB/change approval).
- Confident stakeholder manager, able to bring product owners, infra teams and vendors together to get things delivered.
- Able to juggle 2–3 concurrent projects, stay organised and maintain governance without heavy PMO support.
- Stable employment history – evidence of longevity in roles or long‑running contracts with extensions.
Desirable:
- Experience within a bank or other large, regulated financial institution.
- Familiarity with project/portfolio tools such as Planview.
- Formal PM qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2/PMI) are helpful but not essential versus proven delivery.
The ideal profile
- A seasoned infrastructure PM who is happy delivering smaller, business‑critical projects rather than chasing huge transformation programmes.
- Not a Programme Manager or Portfolio Manager, and not a first‑time/junior PM – someone who can hit the ground running and “just get the job done”.
- Potential to grow into VP level over time as the function matures, or a strong AVP who will provide stability and depth to a small team.
You’ll join a compact, high‑impact team where your work directly improves the stability and performance of key technology services. The hiring manager is focused on finding the right long‑term hire. If this sounds like you, please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
If you’ve held any of these roles or used these technologies/skills, this role could be a great fit: Infrastructure Project Manager, Change Project Manager, BAU Project Manager, IT Project Manager, Network Project Manager, Project Manager, Service Operations Project Manager, IT Change Manager, Change Management Lead, Project Delivery Manager.
