Key Responsibilities:
- Own complex Linux troubleshooting - acting as the final escalation point
- Lead the deployment & handover of new technologies and platforms
- Scout, evaluate, and run PoCs for emerging tech solutions
- Project manage technical initiatives from scoping to deployment
- Partner globally—install, upgrade, and enhance infrastructure
- Define, maintain, and optimise IT standards for security and excellence
- Proactively monitor and optimise Linux systems for performance & compliance
- Participate in change, continual improvement, and 24/7 on-call support rotation
- Mentor colleagues, prepare documentation, and represent your team to stakeholders
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years’ Linux administration (ideally HPC environment)
- Deep troubleshooting and ITSM skills
- Proficient with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Puppet, GitLab, Terraform), containerisation (Docker), and scripting (Bash, Python, Perl)
- Excellent project/time management and communication skills
- Adaptable, proactive problem-solver with leadership potential
- Desirable: DevOps (Kubernetes, OpenStack, CICD), cloud, virtualisation, LPIC/CompTIA/ITIL certification, GPU/RAID/HPC cluster experience
