Data Warehousing Team Lead
c. £90,000 base + Benefits + Bonus
Remote (UK Wide) with Monthly London Visits

As an award winning and trusted recruitment partner to one of the world’s most trusted banking groups for more than ten years, we have been asked to assist in the hire of a permanent Vice President Data Management Team Lead to lead a team of database development support analysts in managing the BAU and IT operation for multiple Data Management and Data Warehousing Systems/Applications across the EMEA region. The role will form part of a BAU team of six that manages and resolves incidents/problems and develops and implements BAU changes.

The role is not hands-on, but the job holder will need a good technical awareness of database development and/or business intelligence (BI) related environments. As such, the role may suit someone coming from a background in SQL Server Development or Business Intelligence for example. No prior financial / banking industry experience if needed.

Experience Needed
- An understanding (doesn’t need to be hands on experience) of Informatica PowerCenter, Oracle/SQL Server, Batch Job Scheduler and Stored Procedures to help guide and support the team that use these technologies.
- Background in Application Development, Database Development and System/Application Support and the BAU work that comes with this including incident, problem, and change processes.
- Prior exposure to leading a team is desirable, but not essential provided you have experience working as a senior member of a team and have the appropriate knowledge to step up to a team lead role.

Role Overview
- Manage the team’s performance and ensure the team provides 24x6 support across Data Management / Data Warehouse Applications. Mentor, support and develop the team members as needed.
- Ensure support is provided within SLAs, in addition to ensuring IT Governance, Standards and Procedures are always adhered to.
- Plan and perform software releases as part of the Release and Change process.
- Manage and prioritise BAU change backlog with business and technology stakeholders.
- Oversee the development of and deliver high quality application software changes to meet requirements.
- Investigate production incidents/problems and identity and implement solutions.
- Ensure the team meets assigned support targets whilst maintaining high levels of quality control.
