Contract Data Architect Rate / salary TBC
Doha, Qatar
We are assisting our client to identify a Data Architect to join in the headquarters based in Qatar.

Note, due to the current Covid-19 situation our client will likely look to onboard people on a remote contract basis initially with the view to then flying out to Qatar once travel restrictions are lifted. Our client does ultimately want to hire permanent staff, so eventually these position will transition to permanent.
The original permanent budget is noted below, obviously this will be tax free and would also include associated benefits; so, contract rates will be higher to take these aspects into consideration.

QAR 35 – 40 K/month + benefits

Skills / Environment
• Track record of successful delivery of Hadoop implementations all the way to Production (not only Proof of Concept)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concerns
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Big Data technologies, such as:
o HDFS and related technologies (Avro, Parquet, Snappy)
o Map Reduce and Yarn
o Spark and Spark Streaming
o Kafka, Flume, Sqoop
o Hive, Pig, Impala
o Oozie
• Experience of working in Public Cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
• Data and Information Management experience
• Experience with following technologies is a bonus:
o Search engines such as Elastic Search, Solr/Lucene
o NoSQL database such as Cassandra, HBase, Couchbase
o Cache Grids (Oracle Coherence, ActiveSpaces, Redis)
o Data Science – Python, R, MLLib
o Datameer / Trifacta / Paxata and similar tools

Role Overview
• Experience in modern Information system architectures and design including technical leadership
• Applied skills in modelling, design and development of Big data solutions
• Bridging the gap between Functional and Technical teams especially in an Agile development environment
• Experience in architecting and maintaining technologies such as Hadoop
• Provide Operational Support for Data Governance and Analytics team.
• Develop guidelines and standards for metadata, reference data, and data quality.
• Are able to address current and future data governance requirements.
• Revise existing data models and are able to update/create data models according to existing data standards.
