Contract Service Desk Engineer – Rate TBC – 3 Months initially with a good prospect of extension or a permanent role

We have been asked to assist in the recruitment of an enthusiastic and driven Service Desk Engineer to work within a small, close-knit team in Welwyn. With a requirement to support all headquarters and field staff within the organisation, the successful candidate must have excellent comuications skills and experience of working witin a service desk environment.

Essential:
• Operating Windows 7 and Windows 10 desktops, especially software installation
• Operating on Windows Server, basic logging in /out and simple checking
• Office365 – managing Mailboxes and users
• Active Directory – simple account creation/deletion/group maintenance
• Operating System and Application deployment
• Following processes and tasks both accurately and consistently
• Providing remote support, often by phone over low bandwidth connection
• Experience of being part of a customer focussed team
• A strong customer service/support background
• Experience supporting in a Wintel environment

Desirable:
• ITIL Foundation/Knowledge
• Knowledge of or experience supporting Digital Camera’s
• Supporting remote working on low bandwidth connection
• Stock control systems
• Basic server technologies such as DNS, DHCP, IIS
• Understanding of image/application deployment

Please note; this role requires employees to help provide essential support to the field based staff over the weekends and on bank holidays, which is expected to be an average of 6 hours (one weekend) per month.
