Contact UNIX Specialist – Central London / Investment Banking– £450-550 Per Day
Key Skills: UNIX, Solaris 8 and 10, ITIL, Veritas Cluster, SAN, Jumpstart Virtualisation, Unix Admin
Our client's business is at the very heart of the London banking community and is a stable member and well regarded institution within city finance circles. Our client's IT systems help support the trading of items such as derivatives swaps and fixed income products. As one of just two official tier 1 preferred recruitment partners, we have been asked to identify a contract Unix Specialist
The main focus of this role will be to support, prevent, maintain and fix any occurring problems with our clients Unix Infrastructure. On top of this the successful candidate will be required to work and assist with related project work.
Responsibilities will include proactive prevention of issues through close monitoring of the UNIX infrastructure. Fixing faults and escalating problems. Building and developing repeatable processes to create sturdy UNIX Installations.
This role may suit a individual that typically holds the following roles: UNIX administrator, Unix Build Engineer, UNIX specialist, Solaris Specialist, Unix Systems Administrator, Unix Consultant

• Solaris 8 and 10 Skills
• Veritas Cluster Server / Veritas Volume Manager / Vertias Filesystem Skills
• SAN
• Hardware skills – Preferable SPARC T2 platform, Sun M5000 platform, x86
• Virtualisation skills such as LDOMs and Solaris zones/containers
• Jumpstart
• ITIL
