| Job description: |
Application Developer – Poole, Dorset – ASP.Net, C#Net, SQL Server, SSIS, Windows Forms - £30K to £35K.
My client is a large financial services company based in the centre of Poole, Dorset. They are currently looking to recruit an Application Developer, to join their small dynamic team.
The Application Developer will come from a financial services background and ideally have experience in C# and ASP.NET and SQL Server experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivery of software projects throughout their lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing and integration.
2. Interacting with external software vendors and suppliers for the purposes of project delivery.
3. Working with business users to elicit requirements, offer advice and provide guidance in relation to proposed software development work.
4. Working with the Development Team Leader to establish the overall software architecture and strategy.
5. Working with the Development Team Leader to define software development standards, policies and procedures.
6. Providing support for line of business applications, including carrying out investigative work and fixing defects.
7. Responsible for carrying out testing on developed applications, including the writing of test plans and the documentation of test results.
Skills Required
1. 2 years+ solid commercial experience of Microsoft .NET technologies, including C#.
2. Knowledge of developing Windows Forms based applications.
3. Excellent knowledge of database systems, including the design and development of relational databases and solid working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
4. Experience using SSIS.
5. Free-hand SQL, including complex query writing and optimisation skills.
6. A positive ‘can do’ attitude and strong interpersonal communication skills.
7. Adaptive to change in a commercial environment where the needs of the business dictate project priorities.
8. A willingness to learn and develop as technologies change and the needs of the business evolve.
9. Excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail.
Experience and Knowledge:
Experience of software development and project delivery in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
At least 2 years solid commercial experience in appropriate Microsoft .NET and database technologies
Commercial experience of delivering Windows Forms based applications
Experience of dealing with external software vendors and suppliers would be high |
